‘Tight End U’: The 10 best Iowa Hawkeyes TEs in NFL history
IOWA CITY, Iowa (BVM) – San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle sparked some debate by stating his school was “Tight End U” during this past weekend’s “Sunday Night Football” broadcast.

The former Iowa Hawkeye does have a solid argument for his college as he and his fellow Iowa tight ends had a stellar Sunday with Kittle recording three catches for 67 yards and three scores, Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta recording three catches for 47 yards and two scores and Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson recording five catches for 51 yards.
Iowa has seen a number of stellar tight ends make the jump to the NFL level including 12 drafted since head coach Kirk Ferentz took over the program in 1999.
