NFL MVP, award winners midway through the 2023 season

Coach of the Year: Dan Campbell, Detroit Lions

There are a lot of names to consider for the NFL Coach of the Year award at the midway point, with several surprise teams as well as many expectedly dominant squads. While the Lions were anticipated to be better in 2023, it can be argued they have exceeded expectations early on as one of the top teams in the NFC, and the leaders of the NFC North. For a team that has not won its division since 1993, Campbell has put them in position for unprecedented success in his third year at the helm.

The Lions currently boast a strong defensive unit, particularly when it comes to run defense, while their offense ranks in the top five in the league. Campbell has Jared Goff playing some of the best football of his career, and most importantly has this team believing they are one of the best in the league. Doug Pederson has done the same in Jacksonville, while Mike McDaniel has done a heck of a job in Miami. However, it seems to be Campbell’s award to lose at this point.

Others to consider: Mike McDaniel, Doug Pederson, Nick Sirianni
