Top 5 candidates to replace Josh McDaniels as Raiders’ HC
LAS VEGAS (BVM) – Las Vegas Raiders’ head coach Josh McDaniels became the first domino of the NFL coaching carousel to fall, after both him and general manager Dave Ziegler were let go heading into Week 9 action.
“After much thought about what the Raiders need to move forward, I have decided to part ways with Josh and Dave,” Las Vegas owner Mark Davis said in a statement. “I want to thank them both for their hard work and wish them and their families nothing but the best.”
McDaniels, who signed a six-year contract with the Raiders back in 2022, delivered a rough tenure in Las Vegas, combining for a 9-16 record over his less-than-two seasons leading the team. With an inefficient offense creating weekly headlines around the league, the Raiders owner opted to go in a new direction. Along with the firings of both the head coach and general manager, Las Vegas also moved on from offensive coordinator Mick Lombardi.
In search of a new leadership this offseason, here’s five head coach candidates the Raiders could look to hire.
