The 6-foot-5 guard graduated from Manual High School in Denver. “Sugar Ray” soared like a comet through the NBA sky. The New York Knicks picked him fourth overall in the 1978 NBA Draft. Richardson would earn four All-Star bids, along with NBA All-Defensive first-team honors twice.
