10. Chance Puryear, F, Carter

The standout for the Cowboys last season, Puryear put himself on the map as a junior averaging 14 points, nine rebounds and three assists while leading Carter to a 31-4 record and a spot in the Class 4A Region II finals where it lost to eventual state champion Faith Family. The 6-foot-7 small forward was named the District 13-4A offensive player of the year and was recognized as a second-team Dallas Morning News all-area member.

Puryear is rated as highly as the No. 11 player in Texas by 247Sports and earned 12 D-I scholarship offers from the likes of Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. He ultimately decided to stay close to home, committing to SMU on June 8.
