5 possible landing spots for free agent LHP Eduardo Rodriguez
DETROIT (BVM) — The AL Central was the worst division in MLB during the 2023 season. It saw four of five teams finish under .500 and one of those squads was the Detroit Tigers. But a handful of players put forth satisfactory performances, including left-handed pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez.
Detroit signed Rodriguez to a five-year, $77 million contract in November 2021 and nearly dealt him to the Los Angeles Dodgers before the 2023 trade deadline. However, he exercised his no-trade clause.

It was also reported by Jon Heyman of the New York Post that Rodriguez would opt out of his contract and he officially became a free agent on Nov. 4.

The lefthander had a subpar 2022 season, but he bounced back in 2023, recorded 13 wins, a career-best 3.30 ERA and struck out 143 batters in 152⅔ innings of work. His production has made him a highly sought-after free agent and these are five possible destinations for the 30-year-old hurler.
