Jonathan Smith to MSU; 5 Oregon State head coach candidates
4. Bryan Harsin
Harsin, a former quarterback at Boise State in the 1990s, spent nine years as an assistant at his alma mater in the 2000s before becoming the Broncos’ head coach in 2014. In seven seasons, he led the Broncos to an impressive 69-19 record and three Mountain West championships. That earned Harsin his most recent coaching gig at Auburn where he went just 9-12 and was let go midway through the 2022 season. While his failures with the Tigers are a slight knock to his resume, Harsin is still 85-36 overall in his head-coaching career. His experience and proven ability to recruit successfully in the West could make him a perfect fit as Oregon State begins its next chapter.
