9. Walt Hazzard, PG
Hazzard’s teams went a combined 89-3 at Overbrook High School, where he was the city’s Player of the Year as a senior. Hazzard then helped UCLA to its first Final Four in 1962 and a national title in 1964.
Hazzard played for five teams after being taken fifth overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1964 NBA Draft. He was an All-Star with the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1967-68 season when he averaged a career-best 24 points.
Hazzard later coached UCLA’s men team and worked with the Lakers after that.
