Brayden Schager transferring; 5 potential landing spots
5. Kansas State
Following the transfer of starter Will Howard, the Wildcats have a lack of experience in their quarterback room with the oldest player being sophomore Jake Rubley. While coaches and fans alike are high on true freshman Avery Johnson, he’s quite green and may need another season after attempting just 35 passes this year.
Schager would certainly give Kansas State the experienced signal caller it lacks and the move would also bring him much closer to his native Texas. However, with offensive coordinator Collin Klein leaving for Texas A&M, there is some uncertainty as to what offensive system will be run by the Wildcats next year. If Kansas State decides to run a similar system, Schager could easily slide into the role and serve as a bridge to keep the Wildcats competitive as they allow Johnson to develop.
