Tate Rodemaker transferring; 5 landing spots for quarterback
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (BVM) – Florida State Seminoles quarterback Tate Rodemaker was dealt a difficult hand in 2023. After serving as the backup quarterback for most of the season, Rodemaker was thrown into the fire following the injury to star signal caller Jordan Travis.
He was solid, but unspectacular over the Seminoles’ final two regular season games including a start against rival Florida. going 25-for-48 for 351 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. However, an injury prevented him from suiting up for the team’s ACC Championship game appearance. Now, after Florida State has begun recruiting experienced starters through the transfer portal, the junior quarterback has decided to enter the portal himself.
Florida State QB Tate Rodemaker, who took over as FSU’s starter after Jordan Travis' injury, has informed the FSU staff that he plans to enter the transfer portal, a source tells @247sports.

While Rodemaker wasn’t able to establish himself as the future at Florida State, he did show he was more than capable of leading an offense to success as he helped the Seminoles secure its final two wins of an undefeated regular season. Given his experience and success playing in the historically difficult ACC, Rodemaker should have no trouble finding a starting opportunity elsewhere.
