College football’s 5 most viral on-field fights of 2023
(BVM) – Fights and brawls are historically well documented during college football games, and the 2023-24 college football season has its fair share of players throwing punches on the football field.
Sometimes referees, fans, security guards and even band players get involved in fights during college football games. In November, a Texas Southern tuba player punched an alleged heckler four times at a Jackson State football game. Elsewhere in the country, a referee was trampled during a fight that broke out after the 2023 Alabama-Auburn Iron Bowl. Even an Alabama State player was arrested after he punched a security guard at a Florida A&M game.
Of course, fights at football games shouldn’t be treated as a joke. Early in the 2023 NFL season, a New England Patriots fan died after an apparent scuffle in the stands with a Miami Dolphins fan.
