Top 10 NBA rookies through first half of 2023-24 season
1. Victor Wembanyama, C, San Antonio Spurs
Wembanyama is one of the most-hyped rookies in NBA history and while he has had a lot of learning moments so far this year, his elite talent has been evident. Across 34 games, the 7-foot-4 center from France has averaged a double-double with 19.6 points and 10.3 rebounds, also adding three assists per contest. Although he has not been great at shooting from deep, Wembanyama has shot a decent 46% from the field overall. Wemby has put up some strong offensive games for the Spurs, including a 38-point outing in Phoenix in November. However, his defensive presence down low has perhaps been even more impressive as he averages 3.2 blocks and 1.1 steals. Wembanyama isn’t even near his ceiling yet which is a scary thought for the rest of the league. He very well could be the next face of the NBA.
