Ranking the 10 best NFL free agents for the 2024 offseason
7. Jaylon Johnson, CB, Chicago Bears
Johnson was one of the league’s breakout stars throughout the 2023 season. The 24-year-old went one from one interception in 2022 to four this year, while also racking up 36 tackles and 10 pass deflections. Johnson was named second-team All-Pro for his stellar campaign. He is now a free agent at the perfect time and will look to cash in.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were rumored to be one of the teams that were most interested in Johnson at the trade deadline, but he ultimately stayed put in Chicago. Expect the Steelers to make another run at him. Joey Porter Jr. was fantastic as a rookie this past season and he looks like one of the bigger bright spots on the defense going forward. If Pittsburgh can pair him with Johnson, it would have one of the most exciting, young cornerback duos in the NFL.
