Top 10 Canadian HS baseball players in Class of 2024
5. Jorge Valdes, OF, TNXL Academy-Premier
Valdes’ potential is through the roof. The 5-10, 165-pound outfielder runs a 6.55 60-yard dash and earned himself the nickname “The Cuban Flash” by his teammates. Valdes wasn’t highly-regarded until the Toronto Blue Jays Canadian Futures Showcase in 2022 where he had five hits, four walks and seven stolen bases in five games. Now a West Virginia commit, Valdes projects to be an elite leadoff hitter with the combination of his speed and his high contact rate. With numerous all-tournament team awards in his trophy case, he’s proven to perform on the biggest stages despite being undersized.
