10 unheralded players who could impact March Madness

Robbie Avila, C, Indiana State

Avila has all the makings of an NCAA Tournament star. He plays at a mid-major, he is a surprisingly athletic big and he wears goggles while he plays. The memes practically make themselves.

While Avila is highly talented, he’s not the Sycamores’ top scorer, top rebounder, or top passer, but he does all three very well for a man of his size averaging 16 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists while shooting 53.2% from the field. Though it remains to be seen how Avila or his Indiana State squad will fare against tougher competition, given the team’s success in the historically strong Missouri Valley Conference, expect the center to make waves in March Madness.
