Caleb Williams transferring; 5 spots for D-III hoops star

Caleb has a loose connection to the Cavaliers program. His father once served as the recruiting coordinator for the UW-Green Bay men’s basketball team under former head coach Mike Heideman from 1996-98. Heideman was a longtime assistant coach of Dick Bennett, Virginia head coach Tony Bennett’s father, and eventually served as the director of operations for Washington State men’s basketball for Tony.

Though the connection between Caleb and the Cavaliers isn’t the strongest, Tony, a Wisconsin native himself, has been known to recruit the state hard. Virginia could lose starting guard and leading scorer Reece Beekman to the draft, so perhaps dipping into Wisconsin for another guard wouldn’t be a bad option for Tony and his squad.
