Payton McHarg Dominates Washburn Baseball; Lexi Fontaine Excels in MIAA Indoor Championships

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn's Payton McHarg from Ichabod baseball and Lexi Fontaine from Ichabod track have been named the HyVee Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of action ending Feb. 25. Payton McHarg went 8 for 11 on the weekend driving in seven runs in Washburn's 2-1 series victory over Pittsburg State. The junior hit .727 with a 1.545 SLG% while also drawing four walks over the weekend. In the field he was also perfect collecting seven assist and making three putouts with no errors.
