4. Austin Irby, 3B, Cox
Irby created a dangerous duo with his older brother Michael last season and now is set to take over as the Falcons’ star this spring. Last year, the Irby brothers led Cox to a 23-3 record and the Class 5A state title. For his efforts, Irby was named VHSL Class 5A first-team all-state.
Irby is considered a unanimous top-five recruit in the state’s senior class, ranking fifth by Perfect Game and fourth by PBR. Unsurprisingly, Irby elected to join his brother at the collegiate level, signing with East Carolina on Nov. 8.
