Jalen Blackmon transferring: 5 landing spots for star scorer
Houston
The Cougars were one of the few high-major programs to offer Blackmon out of high school and may benefit from adding him in the portal. Houston could see guards Jamal Shead, LJ Cryer and Damian Dunn to the NBA draft or elsewhere, but they all have one year of eligibility left. If the Cougars lose any of those players, Blackmon could be a strong replacement.
Houston doesn’t shoot a lot of threes, but Cryer ranks in the top 15 in 3-point attempts and top 50 in 3-point percentage. If he were to leave, Blackmon could step in and have similar results offensively. Even if Cryer stays, having Blackmon as a bench player would give the Cougars a similar offensive weapon in two different rotations. Given Houston’s previous interest, team success and potential need, Blackmon would likely be intrigued by the opportunity to join the Cougars.
