Dain Dainja transferring: 5 landing spots for Big Ten center
DePaul
During his high school recruitment, Dainja made an official visit to the Ohio State campus, showing how interested he was in the program. Though he would ultimately choose Baylor, Dainja likely still has at least some connection to the coaches in Columbus, namely former head coach Chris Holtmann. Now, Holtmann is the man in charge at DePaul and will be looking to craft the roster in his image. Why not add a big man from an in-state institution to help with the transition?
Dainja would stay in Illinois where he has spent the past two years of his life while staying close to his home state of Minnesota. This would also reunite him with a coach whom he had a deep connection with as a recruit while keeping him at the high-major level. He would also be seen as one of the clear weapons on a rebuilding Blue Demons team which has to be intriguing. Though it may be a hard move for Holtmann to pull off, if he were to get Dainja, it would prove how dangerous the new coach could be in the portal for years to come.
