Roddy Gayle Jr. transferring: 5 landing spots for guard
BYU
Gayle played his final two high school seasons at Wasatch Academy in Utah where he elevated his status as a top recruit. While he wasn’t offered by the Cougars out of high school, the team could use the guard this time around. With Spencer Johnson exhausting his eligibility, BYU could use a guard that can score on the inside, as most of the team is full of jump shooters and outside shooters.
Gayle doesn’t have the best outside shot, shooting at only 28% from beyond the arc. However, he is a skilled shooter and scorer as evidenced by his 13.5 points per game and 45% shooting from the field. If the Cougars are interested in adding a playmaking guard that can score downhill, the former Utah resident Gayle would be a good place to start.
