Gaines, Nyatusah Earn MIAA Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pittsburg State University junior sprinter Diandrenique Gaines and junior hurdler Joel Nyatusah garnered MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for women's and men's outdoor track & field Tuesday (Apr. 9). Gaines clocked the third-fastest time in NCAA Division II this season in winning the 100 meters at the 16th Annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic Saturday (Apr. 6). The Port Gibson, Miss., native also ran the anchor leg for PSU's 4x100m relay which posted the fastest time in Division II this year (44.69).
