Top 10 freshman NCAA softball players during 2024 season
9. Regan Shockey, UTL, Arizona
Despite some difficulty in conference play, Arizona has had a nice 2024 campaign thus far and has one of the sport’s brightest freshman stars on its side. Shockey isn’t necessarily a power hitter like some of the notable bats on this list, but her ability to put the ball in play and find the gaps has been impressive. The 5-foot-7 utility player from Chino Hills, California leads the Wildcats with a .415 batting average and 55 hits this season, the latter of which are the second-most among all Division I freshmen and are tied for the 13th-most in the entire country. Shockey has also been solid wherever she has played defensively for Arizona with a .986 fielding percentage.
Regan Shockey, you are amazing!
What an arm from @rshockey10; her second outfield assist in as many games!
