Top 10 freshman NCAA softball players during 2024 season
8. Sanaa Thompson, OF, North Carolina
Thompson has been highly impressive in her first year of college softball and has been a great complement in the lineup to one of the nationโs best hitters, junior Alex Coleman, for a North Carolina team that has started the 2024 campaign 24-13. The 5-foot-6 outfielder has hit .417 this season with a .500 on-base percentage and a 1.102 OPS. Thompson has proven to have speed on the base pads with eight steals on the year and has also shown some nice pop in her bat, hitting four home runs while adding 29 RBIs and 28 runs. The ability of both Coleman and Thompson to get on base will continue to make North Carolina a tough opponent to face down the stretch.
