Pringle was lightly recruited coming out of Whale Branch High School in South Carolina which led him to begin his collegiate career in-state at Wofford. He played just 15 games for the Terriers in his freshman year before transitioning to Dodge City Community College in Kansas.
The 6-foot-10, 230-pound forward put together a nice season at the JUCO level which earned him a high-major opportunity at Alabama. After seeing relatively little playing time behind Charles Bediako for a 30-win Crimson Tide squad in 2022-23, Pringle earned 16 starts while playing over 18 minutes per contest this past season, averaging 6.8 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 62.3% from the field.
Pringle’s averages don’t jump off the page, but his play during Alabama’s run to the Final Four in March showcased the potential he has, highlighted by a 16-point, 11-rebound effort in the Crimson Tide’s Elite Eight victory over Clemson.
Despite ups and downs this past season and throughout his collegiate career, Pringle’s proven ability at the highest level will make him an interesting target for several teams that need a quality big. Here are five potential landing spots for Pringle after entering the transfer portal.
