Chucky Hepburn transferring: 5 possible landing spots

MADISON, Wis. (BVM) – Wisconsin guard Chucky Hepburn has entered the transfer portal following three strong seasons with the Badgers.

Hepburn is a former four-star recruit out of Bellevue West High School in Nebraska where he became the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2020. The 6-foot-2 point guard committed to Wisconsin over a host of other Big Ten schools and was a starter from day one for head coach Greg Gard. His freshman season was highlighted by a last-second 3-pointer in a late-season matchup with Purdue that propelled the Badgers to a Big Ten regular-season title.

After averaging a career-best 12.2 points as a sophomore in 2022-23, Hepburn’s scoring took a step back this past season with the Badgers adding offensive pieces like AJ Storr, among others, as he averaged 9.6 points. However, his overall impact on the team was undeniable, particularly on the defensive end where he averaged 2.1 steals while making the Big Ten all-defensive team.

Hepburn’s departure will leave a large void in the Wisconsin backcourt as the talented point guard instantly becomes one of the best players available in the transfer portal. Here are five potential landing spots for Hepburn.
