Max Shulga enters transfer portal: 5 possible landing spots
Utah Utes
Shulga spent his first three seasons of college basketball playing at Utah State, so a return close to his old stomping grounds could be in the cards. A move to Salt Lake City is made more likely because of Utah head coach Craig Smith who brought Shulga to the Beehive State when he was the head coach of the Aggies. Not only does that reunion make this a likely landing spot, but so does Shulga’s potential fit on Utah’s roster. The Utes had a 22-win season in 2023-24 but will endure some roster turnover beginning with leading scorer Branden Carlson who is out of eligibility. While a couple of guards could return for a fifth year, Utah’s backcourt will also lose depth with Cole Bajema graduating and Rollie Worster transferring. That makes Shulga a terrific target for Smith who could pick up the scoring void left behind by Carlson.
