Elijah Hawkins transferring: 5 possible landing spots

Texas Tech had a nice season overall in Grant McCasland’s first year in Lubbock, going 23-11 while reaching the NCAA Tournament. However, the Red Raiders will likely encounter some significant losses this offseason, beginning with leading scorer Pop Isaacs who is in the transfer portal. Meanwhile, Texas Tech’s other backcourt leader, Joe Toussaint, is out of eligibility. The backcourt in Lubbock isn’t necessarily depleted as players like Chance McMillan, Darrion Williams and Kerwin Walton will likely return, but an addition like Hawkins would certainly help mask the loss of the team’s two starting guards. Going back to Tylor Perry at North Texas and continuing with Isaacs this past season, guards have tended to thrive under McCasland which could be enticing for Hawkins and set him up for a career year in his senior season.
