Byron Murphy II (DL | No. 16 by Seattle Seahawks:): Murphy is one of 23 players out of DeSota to make it to the NFL. He was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2021. As a senior, he tallied 79 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 14 pressures, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.
Tyler Guyton (OT | No. 29 by Dallas Cowboys): Guyton didn’t start playing football until his senior season – after coaches at Manor approached him with the idea of trying out for the football team. Within one season, the Class of 2020 graduate became a three-star recruit with one D-I offer to play in college.
Ja’Lynn Polk (WR | No. 37 by New England Patriots): Polk is one of the highest-ever drafted NFL players from Lufkin High School (three-time Pro Bowler Dez Bryant is one notable alum). The Class of 2020 three-star prospect finished his career with 131 receptions and 2,412 receiving yards
T’Vondre Sweat (DL | No. 38 by Tennessee Titans): Sweat was a three-star prospect at Huntsville, where he registered 53 tackles and three sacks as a junior. The Class of 2019 graduate is one of seven former Huntsville players in history to make it to the NFL.
