White Sox ‘willing to deal’ Luis Robert Jr.: 5 landing spots

Los Angeles Dodgers

The trade: The Dodgers acquire Robert. The White Sox acquire Dalton Rushing, Andy Pages, Nick Frasso, Jackson Ferris and Gavin Lux.

The Dodgers landing an elite player is nothing new and should be on the table again. Shohei Ohtani has been fantastic in his first season with the team, and that has overshadowed how well Teoscar Hernandez has played. Unfortunately, he is the only outfielder Los Angeles can trust going forward. Jason Heyward and Miguel Vargas have good numbers, but the 2024 sample size is small. Chris Taylor and Kiké Hernandez have been abysmal at the plate this year. The Dodgers will now be expected to go on a deep playoff run every season with the roster they have, so they should not shy away from being aggressive at the trade deadline. Robert would add much-needed depth to their lineup.

MLB Pipeline has Josue De Paula listed as Los Angeles’ No. 2 prospect, but do not be surprised if he is listed as one of the best in all of baseball within the next couple of years. The 19-year-old slugger is tearing up A-ball and he should be the one prospect who the Dodgers keep. To hold on to him, they would have to give up extra in a Robert trade. This scenario includes two former top prospects in Pages and Lux heading to the White Sox, along with the No. 50 prospect in baseball Dalton Rushing. Frasso could enter Chicago’s rotation immediately and Ferris could join him in the future.
