Cam Johnson enters transfer portal: 5 possible landing spots
BATON ROUGE, La. (BVM) – Cam Johnson was projected to be a top draft pick in 2023, as he was ranked as the No. 11 high school senior in the country by Perfect Game. The 6-foot-5 left-handed pitcher slipped and instead decided to fulfill his commitment to LSU.
The Upper Marlboro, Maryland, native had a poor freshman season and has now decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Just updated the @d1baseball Transfer Tracker with several updates, including #LSU LHP Cam Johnson entering tonight.
Johnson has a long way to go, but is clearly a premium arm. I'm intrigued to see where he ends up. https://t.co/F2mEcVz9t4

He has the tools to be an early first-round pick when eligible in 2026 and he should be the hottest transfer available despite his underwhelming year. Joe Doyle of Future Star Series has Johnson as the No. 5 college prospect in that draft class.
These are the schools that should look to add the SEC fireballer.
