NiJaree Canady enters transfer portal: 5 possible landing spots

Canady and California are quite familiar with each other as Pac-12 foes the past couple of seasons and the star pitcher actually ended the Golden Bears’ conference season in the Pac-12 tournament in May. Still, Cal had a pretty strong campaign overall in 2024, going 37-19 while reaching the NCAA tournament where it fell in the Baton Rouge regional. The Golden Bears will need to replace their top pitcher this offseason, Haylei Archer, and Canady would provide a significant upgrade to pair alongside a young core led by rising sophomore Randi Roelling. However, perhaps the biggest factor in a potential move to Cal for Canady would be to compete at the same school as her brother, BJ Canady, who will begin his college football career with the Golden Bears this fall.
