Ranking the top 10 Arizona Cardinals in franchise history
2. Larry Wilson, DB (1960-72)
Wilson could swoop in from his safety spot and plow a ball carrier. He was just as adept at hopping in front of passes.
From 1966-70, Wilson was a first-team All-Pro each season. He retired with the sixth-most interceptions (52) in NFL history, including one with casts shielding broken fingers on both hands in 1965.
“In a football game, you’ve only got 60 minutes to prove what kind of player you are,” Wilson was quoted as saying. “Forty-nine minutes aren’t enough. You’ve got to give 100% on every play.”
A Pro Football Hall of Famer and career Cardinal, Wilson has his No. 8 retired by the franchise.
