Erick Fedde on the trade block: 5 possible landing spots
St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals weren’t in position to buy following a 15-24 start, but they have had a strong past couple of months that has them back in the hunt in the NL Central and in position for a wild-card spot. St. Louis may target starting pitching at the deadline and Fedde would be a relatively cheap option who is more than just a rental. He also may not cost as much to acquire compared to others, something that could be a factor for the Cardinals with one of the lesser farm systems in the league. The Cards’ pitching staff hasn’t been awful this year, but consistency has often been an issue, particularly between Miles Mikolas, Lance Lynn and Andre Pallante. Fedde, who has been a model of consistency in 2024, would be a nice piece to slot in alongside Sonny Gray and Kyle Gibson as St. Louis looks to make a postseason push.
