Ranking each Big Ten starting QB for the 2024 football season
10. Hudson Card, Purdue
Card’s numbers were decent in his first season at Purdue in 2023 as he threw for 2,387 yards and 15 touchdowns. However, his completion rate was below 60%, he threw eight interceptions and he also took 21 sacks. The negatives probably outweighed the positives overall as Purdue struggled to a 4-8 record in the first season of the Ryan Walters era, but there is reason for optimism heading into 2024. First and foremost, the former Texas transfer now has a year of Big Ten starting experience under his belt after being primarily a backup with the Longhorns. But perhaps the biggest plus for the 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback in 2024 will be a second season in offensive coordinator Graham Harrell’s system who has led some prolific passing attacks during his time as a coach.
