5 NHL stars who will be next for a major contract extension

The Oilers were able to get one star locked down, and now they can focus on keeping the best player in the NHL in Edmonton. McDavid will not be able to sign an extension until July 2025, but the Draisaitl news is already a step in the right direction. McDavid should undoubtedly be the league’s highest-paid player barring him taking a team-friendly deal.
