Ranking the 10 best LSU Tigers wide receivers in NFL history
6. Eric Martin (1985-94)
Martin was terrific during his time at LSU, posting 2,625 receiving yards across four seasons. His best campaign came as a junior as he amassed over 1,000 yards as a first-team All-SEC and first-team All-American wideout. Martin wasn’t selected until the seventh round of the 1985 NFL Draft but received the opportunity to remain in Louisiana with the Saints. The 6-foot-1 wideout was a solid contributor right away in New Orleans before a breakout 1988 campaign where he made his lone Pro Bowl appearance. Martin posted 1,000-yard seasons back to back in 1988 and 1989 and did so again in 1992. The Saints Hall of Famer spent his final NFL season with the Chiefs, finishing his career with 553 receptions, 8,161 yards and 49 touchdowns across 10 seasons.
