Steelers ‘to monitor’ WR trade market: 5 potential targets
PITTSBURGH (BVM) – The Pittsburgh Steelers are off to a strong start in 2024 as one of five remaining undefeated teams and already lead the AFC North by two games.
Pittsburgh wasn’t expected to do much going into the fall, projected by most to hover around .500 again just as the team has the past few seasons. However, Mike Tomlin’s team has exceeded expectations thus far, particularly on defense as it has allowed just 26 total points through three weeks and only 229.7 yards per game, both league-best marks.
Meanwhile, the Steelers’ offense has also been solid, led by quarterback Justin Fields, playmakers like Najee Harris and George Pickens and a solid line. However, the team could use more weapons offensively, particularly at wide receiver.
Recently, ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano noted that the Steelers are expected “to monitor the receiver trade market” as the Nov. 5 NFL trade deadline approaches following an offseason where they also looked to add help at the position, including 49ers wideout Brandon Aiyuk.
While notable in-season trades in the NFL are relatively rare, Pittsburgh could be in play to make a significant deal in the coming weeks. Here are five potential wide receiver trade targets for the Steelers.
