NASCAR’s most significant wrecks of the 2024 season

Josh Berry impacts playoff race at Darlington

The Cook Out Southern 500 over Labor Day weekend was the final race of the regular season and held playoff implications for several drivers. Chase Briscoe surprised with his first win since 2022 to clinch a postseason spot, but multiple other playoff hopefuls were eliminated late. One of the most notable drivers impacted was Bubba Wallace who was collected in a wreck with 23 laps to go started by Berry. The driver of the No. 4, who also missed the playoffs with a winless regular season, attempted to go three-wide alongside Denny Hamlin and Ty Gibbs on lap 344, creating a scary-looking wreck that collected several cars. The crash was one of several notable wrecks for Berry during his first full-time Cup Series season.
