Entering his third year as head coach in 2025, Hugh Freeze needs to turn things around sooner rather than later. Adding a high-profile transfer like Arnold would be a nice start. Auburn’s passing attack was solid in 2024 behind Payton Thorne who threw for over 2,700 yards. However, Thorne, a fifth-year senior, is on his way out, so Auburn could seek another experienced quarterback in the transfer portal. Freeze has highly-touted signal caller Deuce Knight joining the program in Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class, but Arnold would be more starter-ready in a potential make-or-break year for Freeze’s job. Freeze is also known for getting the most out of his quarterbacks which could make Auburn an intriguing destination for Arnold.
