Jax State set to hire former Auburn standout Deshaun Davis as linebackers coach

A former Auburn standout has joined Charles Kelly’s coaching staff at Jacksonville State. Linebackers coach Deshaun Davis, who spent four seasons on the Plains playing the position he now coaches, announced he would be making the move to become a Gamecock on Thursday. After an Auburn career in which Davis accumulated 256 total tackles and 7 sacks, the 29-year-old spent parts of two seasons in the NFL before a stint in the CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2020.
