Scottre Humphrey transferring: 5 landing spots for RB
North Carolina Tar Heels
North Carolina is beginning a new era after hiring legendary coach Bill Belichick who is now tasked with building a competitive roster on the fly for 2025. Belichick has already recruited multiple transfers to Chapel Hill, but running back remains a need for North Carolina. The Tar Heels failed to meet expectations in 2024, going just 6-7 in what proved to be Mack Brown’s final season. Despite the overall lack of success, North Carolina ran the ball well throughout the year in large part thanks to Omarion Hampton who had 1,660 yards and 15 touchdowns. Hampton is off to the NFL, pitting freshman Davion Gause as the starter next season. Gause flashed upside in 2024, but Humphrey, who has already received an offer from the Tar Heels, would give UNC a proven back who can handle a sizable workload.
