Top 10 Houston Cougars basketball players of all time
5. Michael Young (1980-84)
Young was a part of the Houston teams that made three consecutive Final Four appearances, including two national championship game appearances in 1983 and 1984. One of the few players to compete in three straight Final Four games, Young was a two-time first-team All-Southwest Conference selection. He finished his college career as the school’s third-leading scorer, after averaging double digits all four years, including 29 points and six rebounds per game his senior year. His No. 42 jersey was retired in 2004.
Happy birthday to Michael Young, who turns 63 today.
