Notre Dame quarterback options for 2025 college football season
CJ Carr
Carr is the highest-rated prospect on this list as he was billed as a four-star recruit and top-50 player overall in the Class of 2024 by multiple recruiting services. Carr has little experience at the collegiate level, seeing just a few snaps in Notre Dame’s September blowout victory over Purdue, but the rising sophomore should still have an opportunity to seize the team’s starting job. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback, who is the grandson of former Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr, was a three-time first-team all-state performer at Saline High School, throwing for over 2,600 yards and at least 24 touchdowns in each of his final three prep seasons. With a strong arm, good accuracy and a high football IQ, CJ has the talent to be a multi-year starter for the Irish which could begin as soon as 2025 provided he’s healed up from his elbow injury.
