Top 5 Ohio State offensive coordinator candidates for 2025
Neal Brown
Brown is looking for work after being let go by West Virginia in 2024. He spent six seasons as head coach of the Mountaineers, going 37-35 overall. Before that, Brown went 35-16 across four seasons at Troy, earning three bowl victories while being named the 2017 Sun Belt Coach of the Year. His head-coaching experience is valuable, but Brown was also a well-respected offensive coordinator in the early 2010s at Texas Tech and Kentucky. While West Virginia’s offense struggled this past season, it was a top-30 unit in 2023 as the Mountaineers went 9-4. Brown could use a chance to rehab his coaching value, and bringing his up-tempo offensive style to Ohio State could be the perfect opportunity. He would also reunite with his former running back in Columbus, CJ Donaldson, who transferred to the Buckeyes in December.
