Top 10 Big 12 basketball players midway through 2024-25 season
1. Hunter Dickinson, C, Kansas
Dickinson has been a star for five years going back to when he won Big Ten Freshman of the Year at Michigan in 2021. The 7-foot-2 big man continues to thrive in his second season at Kansas, impacting the game on both ends of the floor. While Dickinson’s numbers are down from the double-double he averaged last season, he has still put up strong stats, averaging 16.3 points – the fourth-most in the conference – and 9.6 rebounds, the second-most in the Big 12. Dickinson has struggled with his shot but has been relatively efficient overall at 52.8% from the floor. He is also sound on defense, blocking 1.5 shots per game. Bill Self is still trying to get the pieces to mesh, but the Jayhawks’ two-time All-American should make a big impact down the stretch of his final collegiate season alongside star guard Zeke Mayo.
