Salaries of 2024 Texas HS football state champion coaches

10. Josh Ervin, Ganado Indians  

Ervin’s salary in 2024 was $93,000, ranking as the lowest-paid head coach among Texas football state champions this past season. In comparison, the average annual wage in the school district was $46,680. 

Ervin was promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach at Ganado in January 2022. In his third year at the helm, he led the Ganado Indians (14-1) to their first-ever state championship in 2024, securing the Class 2A-I title.
