Top 10 freshman NCAA softball players of the 2025 season

10. Rylee Slimp, OF, UCLA

Like several of the top teams in the country, UCLA has started strong thanks to multiple freshmen, one being highly touted pitcher Addisen Fisher, who is a perfect 9-0 in the circle. Slimp has also had a significant impact in Los Angeles thus far as a terrific outfielder who made an impressive home run-robbing catch earlier this year. Slimp has shined at the plate for the Bruins, hitting .451 with two home runs and 12 RBIs. The 5-foot-11 outfielder also has a team-leading .547 on-base percentage and a 1.124 OPS. Slimp has been an integral part of the Bruins’ lineup behind power hitters like Jordan Woolery and Megan Grant, and her immediate emergence should keep UCLA in the Women’s College World Series conversation throughout the spring.
