Ranking 68 NCAA Tournament teams from tallest to shortest

(BVM) – The 2025 NCAA Tournament features some of the tallest and shortest teams in men’s college basketball.

Analyzing team height can offer insight into a team’s style of play and how they might fare in March Madness. Taller teams often dominate the paint, while shorter teams leverage speed to offset their size disadvantage.

Duke is the tallest team in the NCAA Tournament, with an average player height of 6 feet, 7.8 inches. Akron ranks the shortest team, averaging 6 feet, 3.1 inches per player.

Here are the tallest to shortest teams by average height for March Madness 2025, according to KenPom’s metrics – “which were computed by taking the average listed height of every player on the team, weighted by minutes played. Players that have played less than 10% of their team’s minutes are not included.”
