Tallest women’s basketball players of 2025 March Madness
(BVM) – The tallest players in the 2025 women’s college basketball NCAA Tournament are poised to bring talent that’s head and shoulders above the rest.
Here are the top five tallest women’s college basketball players entering the tournament. Note that players who have averaged fewer than 10 minutes per game have been excluded, as they are unlikely to play significant roles in March Madness.
Phillipina Kyei, Oregon Ducks
At 6-foot-8, Oregon Ducks center Phillipina Kyei is the tallest player poised to make an impact during March Madness.
Averaging 19.1 minutes per contest, Kyei has been a steady force all season. She delivered a dominant performance against Rutgers last month, posting 20 points and a career-high 25 rebounds – good for the third-best single-game total in program history.
A fourth-year senior, Kyei could soon join the WNBA ranks as one of the tallest active players, trailing only 6-foot-9 Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner.

Sedona Prince, TCU Horned Frogs
The 6-foot-7 center has been a defensive powerhouse this season, ranking third nationally with 99 blocks.
Prince is one of two D-I players putting up at least 17 points, nine rebounds and three blocks per game this season. Her height and defensive skills have earned her a spot as a semifinalist for Naismith Women’s Defensive Player of the Year.

Lauren Betts, UCLA Bruins
Betts, a 6-foot-7 junior center, towers over the competition as one of the top two most impactful players for the women’s NCAA Tournament. She is a player of the year candidate and a big reason why UCLA has emerged as the No. 1 overall seed.
Her size helps her dominate offensively but also on the defensive end – as evidenced by her impressive averages of 19.6 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.9 blocks.

Sela Heide, Oregon State Beavers
Heide, a 6-foot-7 fifth-year forward, is averaging 18.5 minutes off the bench and stands as one of the top five under-the-radar players in the women’s tournament.
Her towering height has been a key factor in her efficiency. Heide is averaging 7.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest, and she has the best field goal percentage in the nation at 69.9%.

Clara Silva, Kentucky Wildcats
The 6-foot-7 freshman center has seen limited minutes this season, averaging 4.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and one block in 29 games. The international prospect, hailing from Portugal, could tower over expectations with some big performances in the games to come.
